Shiro means head. Dhara means to pour. In this treatment, warm ayurvedic herbalised oil is poured onto the third eye from a hanging vessel. Also know as third eye drip, this is where warm oils are gently poured in a slow dynamic movement over the forehead (this eye) in a continuous calm drip from a special vessel for about 30 minutes. Profoundly relaxing, this treatment switches off a chattering mind and induces rest. Great rejuvenating therapy that gives a healthy glow, radiates from skin. Pizhichil is a relaxing, soothing and rejuvenating treatment with medicated warm oil used in a continuous stream for a definite period for the whole body (excluding head & neck). It is used to effectively treat arthritis, ageing, general weakness, paralysis etc. ‘Pizhichil’ and ‘Sarvangadhara’ are technically the same. Kati Basti Musculoskeletal Treatment

The central portion of the body is called ‘Kati’. Vasti implies a container . Kativasti is an effective therapy for Katisula, which is the term for lower backache or stiffness or pain felt along the back. A small receptacle of black gram dough is made on the lower back, around the lumbo-sacral area. After ensuring that this is leak-proof, lukewarm herbal oil, which alleviates pain and strengthens the bone tissues, is slowly poured into it. The oil and receptacle are removed after about half an hour .The affected area may be gently massaged with same oil. The patient is then advised to take rest for a short while.
